Below I have gathered and listed some of the best Paid options for learning music or helping to teach music to others.
As an at home educator of four home-schooled students and as a true lover of music, I find myself interested in not only learning music but also finding new ways to enhance my student’s musical understanding and abilities.
Musical interest varies widely for each learner, especially pertaining to instruments and learning styles. So, I have taken the time to research and include options that include different focal points in study.
Personally, I’ve always considered the human voice to be the most versatile and lovely of all the musical instruments. This of course is subjective and while not everyone is able to compete on shows like The Voice or are destined to have millions of fans, I do believe that everyone with a voice has the ability to sing and even to sing well with the proper training.
If you thought you couldn’t sing, think again because you can. If you have a student or child who wants to learn how to sing, but you don’t have the money for one on one coaching, then this is for you.
The Superior Singing Method takes you through 8 steps of high level vocal training with professional, world-renowned vocal instructor Aaron Anastasi so that you know exactly how to improve your voice quickly. Their breakthrough vocal training will help develop the vocal muscles that are causing you to have poor pitch. You will learn dynamic vocal exercises that are designed to help you improve your resonance and strengthen your voice muscles. You’ll get a set of video lessons that teach you exactly how to unlock great tone so you sound like the best “you” possible.
The Superior Singing Method will help you:
- Sing higher notes with more power.
- Have better vocal tone.
- Sing with less strain and smooth out the transitions in your voice while you sing.
- Increase Vocal Range.
- Improve your pitch and gain more control.
I always wanted to learn the piano. When I was young, I did get some tutoring on a church organ, but I never went as far as I would’ve liked… mostly because it was a fairly expensive instruction and my parents couldn’t afford it. Now that my daughter is showing an interest I’ve been looking into some at home learning methods that are reasonably priced and I finally found one I think is a winner. It covers all a learner needs to grow as a pianist, from beginner to advanced, and the price is right for an all in one system that doesn’t need to be renewed via subscription.
Rocket Piano teaches you not only what to practice but HOW to practice. They show you how to get more out of 10 minutes of playing than some people will get from spending hours a day at it. You will learn how to practice Smarter, not Harder, so learning to play becomes fast as well as enjoyable. Teaching pianists at different levels and abilities is part of what makes this system so noteworthy.
What and How you will learn:
- You learn about melody, harmony, chords, arpeggios, scales, and how to play chord progressions in any key.
- You learn how to read music from nothing but chord symbols.
- Receive a sound grounding in music theory and a background in piano, its history, and how it works.
- The lessons are all laid out in an easy to follow, step-by-step method featuring three books of lessons, video demonstrations, and high quality sound files.
Of course, if you’re looking for a piano learning program that is social as well as fast and engaging and you don’t mind entering into a subscription service, then the Play Piano in 30 days program may be better for you.
This unique program offers the following perks:
- Access to hundreds of instructional videos and song tutorials.
- Genre specific training (Jazz, Rock, R&B, Pop, Country, Classic, and More).
- Dozens of online tools and software such as Virtual Piano, Flashcards and more.
- 1,000+ Piano Music sheets from different genre and categories.
- Access to Forums/Online Community with profiles, avatars, etc.
- Unlimited Support from dozens of Piano teachers.
- 60 Day No Questions Asked Money Back Guarantee.
- They say you can learn to play piano in as little as 30 days with this online system.
- Online systems include a program for beginners, an intermediate learners program, an advanced learners program, and even a play by ear program.
Now that I think about it, maybe this is something I want to get my students involved in as it seems well worth a nominal subscription price.
And here is one more contender in the online piano learning systems.

When I was about 11 years old, my Grandfather gave me a Ukulele for a Christmas gift. I thought it was really cute and loved playing around with it. I never really got that it was a legitimate string instrument that could play tunes of popular music until I was much older and that Ukulele was long disappeared from my life.
It was this song that made me wish I had actually been taught to play this cool, undervalued instrument.
And today, the Ukulele is making a bit of a comeback. I’ve seen Ukulele players on the Voice auditions and on YouTube song covers. It’s unique, interesting, and fun. And, the Ukulele is one of the cheaper options when purchasing string instruments. So, that makes this a great option for home-school music lessons on a budget. So, check out Rocket Ukulele for instruction to learn Ukulele in just 30 days. Man, I wish I’d had this option when I was young. Oh well, maybe now I can learn with my kids. It’s never too late!
The Rocket Ukulele System offers many of the same advantages as the Rocket Piano system, which is mentioned above. You can go from learning as a novice to playing by ear in just a short time. With song tutorials, flashcards, visualization tools, sheet music, recording and editing software tools, and learning forums, the program is not only productive but also fun and engaging. This program is offered at a low, one time, lifetime access fee.
My oldest brother is a guitar player. He’s been playing since I was very young, so I grew up listening to him practice. I was always very impressed with how easily much of it seemed to come to him. I always believed that some people have it and others don’t. Now I’ve come to see that it took dedication and a true passion for the skill to be as good as my brother was. Perhaps if I had possessed a true love for learning and progressing in such a musical skill, I would’ve been able to do it too.
While I do understand that indeed some are born with a gift beyond the norm, I also get that even the best of the best had to begin with a passion and dedicate themselves to their calling. That being said, there’s also nothing wrong with playing guitar just well enough to have some fun with it as a hobby. Some of my fondest memories involve hanging out in back room jam sessions in the neighborhood, where multiple people would sit around with guitars and practice tunes together, make up songs, and give everyone a chance to sing along. There’s just something about the guitar when it comes to invigorating social gathers.
So, with that in mind, and the fact that my husband has been dabbling in guitar learning since he was a teen, I went searching for a guitar course that could be taken from beginner stages on through advanced skill. This is what I found..
Nothing yet. Do you know of a good one? Let me know about it.
Since I haven’t found any good guitar program to share as of yet, how would you like to hear my brother Terry play Crazy Train? Check it out..
Have you ever thought that if you just had an ear for music, you’d be better equipped to learn to master it? Well, there’s actually a thing known as ear training – or pitch training. Simply stated – This is a way of teaching music learners how to understand the relationships between musical notes and how to recognize distinct musical cords and name them by only their sound.
With the Pure Pitch Course, you can learn to master absolute pitch and relative pitch. Perfect addition to a musical curriculum or advanced training in conjunction with any instrument including Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums, Violin, Vocals, and Music Appreciation.
“After you start using the Pure Pitch Method you will see a whole new world of musical possibilities open up to you.”
Here are some of the benefits gained by conditioning the ability for absolute and relative pitch.
- Name any note or chord by ear.
- Play favorite songs by ear.
- Sing notes from memory only.
- Compose melodies in your head with ease.
- Find any chord by ear, rather than by looking or feeling for it.
- Identify by ear whether a key is sharp or flat.
- Hear sheet music mentally as you read it.
One other program of interest that I found during my search is for those who have an interest in writing music. I won’t go into detail about it here, but if this interests you, I suggest you visit the link below as it is amazing how deep the training goes. As a writer with a love of poetry and music, I’m seriously considering this one for myself.
What do you think? Have you tried any of these programs or do you know of any others of equal benefit to home learners? Let me know in the comments!
Please note: I didn’t mention prices in this post because these are so often subject to change with anything. I will say though, that when I viewed these courses, I deemed their currently set prices to be relatively low in comparison to other music training options and also quite fair for the value of product. I urge you to visit those courses of interest via the links provided and make your own judgement. Thank you for reading!
